Looking for businesses to sponsor Sages, Scoundrels and StoryTellers. I'm thinking $25 per sponsor, but am considering $10 or $25. Offering small space (larger space for more $$) on the program (may be on insert sheet depending on how many sponsors we find).
Please ask your contacts that are business owners or managers if they would like to sponsor this special evening by Hilo Toastmasters. Our Third Annual Sages, Scoundrels & StoryTellers event. The last one we did was "standing room only". Be sure to invite them to attend at the same time. $10 sponsor gets one free ticket. $25 sponsor gets 3 free tickets.
I will approach local restaurants to see if they'd like to offer a "dinner theatre" special that night in conjunction...both before the show, and after ...
These are my thoughts. I'm open to feedback and ideas, so please share. My goal is to raise $300 from sponsors. This would cover our costs, and contribute to the coffers for sending contestants to Oahu, etc.
Great photos Kathy!
Tap, I love your idea for business sponsors! Especially the dinner theater specials! Thanks for volunteering to approach them.
I am CERTAIN that BNI members would be interested in sponsoring...the problem is that because of the strict rules, only a guest could approach them with this. Any guest will do...meeting is at the Hilo Women's club on Thursdays at 7 a.m. Coffee, juice and that's about it...
Great idea! I am so happy that you have the goal of finding sponsers with local resaurants! I love it..... good luck anyone else willing to take on the goal with Tap?
We have our tickets now and will be available on Tuesday!
i'm rethinking giving tickets to sponsors. if others are paying $10 per ticket, then a $10 sponsor is just that, no free ticket. a $25 sponsor will get 1 or 2 free tickets. which do you think? what do you all think on that? once i go out there and try, i need to keep the deal the same for all. tap
sheri,
when i was in bni, we were often asked to sponsor kids sports (keith) and county fair (leonard? and the jewelry dude)... what is different now ?
Bni is now VERY strict on the announcements, community events, etc. Everything is now taboo. But because they are sponsoring an advanced msp training this Thursday afternoon focusing on presentations and I am one of the presenters, I am being allowed to leave flyers at everyone's seat at the event. Which is why I want them. The timing is great....anyway I think think your original idea of $25 and 2 free tickets is such a good deal that everyone will go for it! I think let's go with that...make it a no-brainer and an awesome deal. (Isn't this interactive site great now that we are figuring it out?)
Hi All,
I have developed a flyer for requesting sponsorship from busiinesses. If you own, or know folks who own, or manage a local business, please use this flyer when you ask them if they would sponsor our Sages, Scoundrels and StoryTellers evening. Just $25 to sponsor, and they can get 2 complimentary tickets for sponsoring! Such a Deal! The flyer is in PDF format under FILES on this site.
You will also find a flyer for the event there. Please feel free to print and post as many as possible. Print some in smaller format to act like INVITATIONS for your friends and colleagues to come see our show....
Sherri and I conferred this evening about giving tickets to Sponsors and decided we would include 2 complimentary tickets with a $25 sponsorship. we talked about tax deductibility (Donation minus value received) and I'm not quite certain how that goes if tickets are complimentary...and I vote for letting the business figure that out. ......... SO, looking for $25 sponsors. Goal is $300 (12 sponsors). Please help me if you know business owners. A flyer for the event And a flyer for asking for sponsorship are in FILES on this website. Both are PDF format, download, print, email them.... mahalo for your help. tap
Good job Tap! Hopefully the businesses will see this as a great opportunity. I am optimistic that the local restaurants will step up to the plate quickly. Thanks so much for doing this!
Aloha all. Just heard from a potential sponsor who is a motivational speaker and thought this might be good for hime to be part of the show. I explained this is limited to Toastmasters members, and he said he's not a member YET.
we ran into this when we did earlier shows. We want to promote Toastmasters. but I don't think its appropriate for someone to join specifically to be part of SS&S, with only a few weeks to go...How do you guys think on this? He wanted to know if we'll be thanking the sponsors during trhe event (Yes, we will). He teaches motivational speaking, and hopes to find some students/clients there. We want to promote Toastmasters, not a private tutor of speaking skills and we HOPE to get more members from the event. SO YES, we will thank sponsors at the event, but we are not going to urge folks to check out his course, we're going to urge them to join Toast, right?
Hilo Toastmasters and East Hawaii Cultural Center are the two MAIN SPonsors of this event.
Each is contiributing $300. The $25 sponsors are basically buying 2 tickets and for $5 getting an ad in the program....really cheap. That does not require shooting a flare for $5.
We will collectively thank the $25 sponsors. The agreement is printed advertising.
We will shoot the flare for the club and EHCC....
The main sponsors are to be given " thank you time" at the show....Hilo Toastmasters and EHCC.( Non profit)
OK, sounds good! My only addition is that if I get restaurant(s) to do a special AFTER the show, we will verbally note that, and urge our audience to take advantage of that.
if they do a dinner before the show....that's already gone by, so that does not get them verbal "advertising"...only something for AFTER the show. does that make sense to everyone? thanks for your help.
Aloha all! I think for the END OF THE TOURIST SKIT... I can drive by with my Puna tool kit and offer to help out...wd40 the door, bungee cord the pig to the front of the bus...of course Starr will get upset about not being back on time, Michelle can get excited because now we can have a luau...Roy can help me duct tape the bumper back on...let me know if you guys have more ideas!
